Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Medical Assistant with Corizon Health:
Monitors patient's vital signs.
Implements orders for diagnostic lab tests according to site policy and The Joint Commission and ACA standards.
Maintains inventory of supplies.
Assists RN or LPNs as needed in the medical unit within scope of practice.
Documents in SOAP format all health-related encounters for patients.
Records EKGs as directed by nurse.
Assists physician with minor procedures.
Maintains and cleans medical unit/equipment on a daily basis and as needed
Works in conjunction with the nurse to maintain daily duties required to run the clinic in an organized fashion.
Assists with maintaining SENTRY and CorrecTek recordkeeping.
Obtains specimens as directed and in accordance to policies and procedures within the scope of practice.
Utilizes infection control techniques in a consistent manner.
Attends mandatory monthly staff meetings.
Collects data for Quality Improvement programs, as assigned.

Experience & Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Completion of a medical assistant program from a vocational, technical or career school.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in a health care setting, preferably correctional health care.
A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.
