Summary/Objective: MP&L Manager is responsible for the scheduling, material procurement and final delivery to the customer. MP&L Manager is tasked with ensuring materials strategy is in place to ensure inventory accuracy, visual management, min / max and ability to service orders on time. They work closely with plant management to produce the most cost-effective schedule and organize outsourced carriers.

Essential Functions

  • Material procurement and planning
  • Establishing visual controls to include min / max
  • Work with customer service to communicate potential service issues
  • Utilize TMS to create most cost-effective schedule
  • Run Net Availability Reports daily
  • Run ROS and Weeks On Hand Report to minimize multiple material orders weekly
  • Work with plant leadership to determine and manage effectively to capacity
  • Cycle Count Inventory
  • Review production schedules for any delivery conflicts before releasing loads to carriers
  • Monitor deliveries Work with Customer Service to contact customers to report any delays Reschedule deliveries as needed by working with customers and other departments

  • Excellent use of Excel and use of ERP
  • Basics of inventory management
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing
  • Hands on, floor presence required
  • 5S and ability to develop min / max levels based on rate of sale
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing 
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in a fast-paced work environment with deadlines and monitored standards
  • Must use effective and appropriate communication skills with both internal and external customers as well as service providers
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Supervisory Responsibility

    Indirect warehouse, receiving as it relates to raw materials and shipment of products to customers

    Work Environment

    Plant manufacturing environment, shop floor

    Physical Demands

    Ability to move materials & organize shop floor. May need to lift up to 20 lbs.

    Required Education and Experience

  • Education/Certification: BA, A minimum of an Associate’s Degree is preferred; a major in business or a related concentration is preferred or APICS certification a plus
  • Required Knowledge: Must have knowledge of transportation and basic DOT rules
  • Experience Required: A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in procurement/purchasing, planning and/or logistics
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in English
  • Bilingual preferred, but not required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    Ability to utilize Microsoft office and experience in planning

    Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
