Job Summary

Assists department in the coordination and direction of departmental operations by answering questions, providing guidance, and solving problems relating to payroll. Assist with data entry of forms, employee information and maintaining data base information. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as the Nonresident Specialist.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Greets employees and students at front desk, by email and by telephone. Assists department in the coordination and direction of departmental operations by answering questions, providing guidance, and solving problems relating to Payroll for Nonresident Aliens. Assist with data entry of employee information and maintaining data base information. Follow written and oral directions given by Payroll Director and Assistant Director. Learn specialized software applications. Ensure compliance with applicable University policies, procedures, and local, state, and federal requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or GED. Four (4) years of experience using a computerized payroll or accounting system. Strong computer skills including MS Excel and Word. Excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Associates Degree. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills. Experience working in governmental or higher education Accounting and Payroll. Experience with PeopleSoft Human Capital Management and Finance system and Glacier NRA software.
